About

Michael Morrison, PT, DPT

Michael is a physical therapist at Mojo Physical Therapy in Gunbarrel, Colorado. He is also a certified bike fitter, lead running coach for Revolution Running, and faculty member with the Institute of Clinical Excellence. His passion is to help people continue to do the activities they love, meet their fitness goals, and to not just live, but thrive. Whether he is doing a bike fitting, treating a patient, teaching, or coaching runners, he takes a “whole-human” approach, taking into account stressors in life, exercise patterns, diet, and sleep and the roles these play in a person’s ability to thrive. Similar to his approach as a PT, his bike fitting philosophy blends the science behind the suggested positioning and the art of tailoring that to each individual and their bike. Michael believes in the value of educating clients throughout the fitting process so that they can be empowered to pursue their riding and life goals with confidence.

In his spare time, you can find Michael hanging out with his family and enjoying life outdoors, where he strives to practice what he preaches.

Why is bike fitting important?

Benefits of Bike Fitting

  • Injury prevention – When you’re in the right position, you are better prepared to tolerate the forces, points of contact, and repetitive motion of cycling.
  • Comfort – A good fit means your riding is more enjoyable, which hopefully leads to more time on the bike.
  • Performance – Getting you in the right position allows you to create more power, more efficiently.
  • Safety – When you’re comfortable on your bike and your components are dialed in, you’re better able to focus on your surroundings and react quickly to potential dangers.
  • Value – No matter what kind of bike you have – whether it’s entry level or has the most advanced specs – a proper fit ensures you get the most out of your investment.

I visited Michael when I was training for a long endurance ride. I was having low back pain, knee, saddle discomfort, hand numbness on the right side of my body. MIchael was very professional and knowledgeable regarding the proper bike fit. He listened to my concerns, and made several adjustments. After visiting Michael, I was more comfortable on my bike. Appreciated his follow up communication and recap of the visit. HIs cost is fair for the work and time he spent with me. Highly recommend Forte Bike Fitting Sherry Campbell, wife of Mark.

I highly recommend Michael at FORTE for anyone looking for the best possible fit on their bike. In the weeks following my appointment I could feel my body riding in a stronger posture and felt my body was more appropriately positioned/distributed on the bike. During our appointment he asked questions about how I felt on my bike and where I was experiencing issues. He methodically made adjustments one item at a time. Some changes were very minor, others more immediately noticeable, and all of them added together have resulted in a truly awesome fit. Michael was patient and friendly as we navigated each adjustment. It was very apparent he is an expert in fine tuning the geometry of a bike to best fit the rider. Thank you Michael for your help and expertise! (My gravel bike is pictured below - an Alchemy Lycos.)

This was a great experience, he was patient and kind and the amount I learned during this process was very helpful. I came to him after having my bike for along time trying to dial in the fit on my own. I explained the pains and was having and he made sure to adjust these and fit my bike to my type of riding. Really good people and very knowledgeable.

Very happy with my experience at Forte with Michael! I came to see him after struggling with pain on the bike that had persisted for months after seeing multiple other fitters & pt’s in the area. Michael’s approach was thoughtful and informative, and he explained the “why” behind the changes we were making. I saw a noticeable improvement in pain reduction, comfort, and power after my first visit. I would definitely recommend Michael, and I’ll be coming back to get my other bikes dialed in with him!

Michael is great! He’s personable, professional, and really takes the time to get to know you and your bike fit needs. He got me dialed in for my first two gravel races of the year. I just completed Unbound 50 and both bike and body felt great!

My experience working with Michael on my bike fit could not have been better. On top of his bike fitting skills, his background in physical therapy and his experience running, cycling and coaching came into play very well when working on my position for mid to long distance triathlon racing. After his bike fit I was able to improve my Ironman Boulder 70.3 bike split by 8' and my run split by 4'. I highly recommend Michael for any bike fitting needs, he listens actively and provides a holistic approach to the process beyond position and aerodynamics.

Michael was awesome. An 11 on a scale of 1-10. Very thorough, all the technology to make it happen, by someone who knows what they are doing. ie. A Physical Therapist understands what is going to happen to your body with changes made to a bike set up. Looking for a bike fit? Michael is your guy! Move forward with confidence that you are going to the correct human to fit you on the bike.

Michael did a fantastic job listening to my concerns and understanding my pain points. As a physical therapist, Michael brought a deep understanding of movement and fit to the session. I really appreciated how much time he spent showing me exactly what he was changing, explaining the reasoning behind each adjustment, and checking in on what I was feeling as we made changes. He didn’t just improve the fit, he helped me understand the more intricate adjustments and how to make small tweaks myself in the future. It was an excellent experience that genuinely changed my riding for the better. I also loved that this level of service is available right here in Longmont.

I can't recommend FORTE bike fitting service enough! After struggling with persistent hot spots on my feet, lower back discomfort and numbness in my left hand on longer rides, I finally booked an appointment, and it was a game-changer." Michael took a thorough approach, analyzing my flexibility and riding style before making precise adjustments to my saddle height, handlebar reach, and cleat position. The process was incredibly professional and tailored to my specific needs. The difference in comfort was immediate, but the real surprise came during my 72 hour adventure race. I noticed a significant increase in my leg power. I'm pushing more watts and maintaining speed with less fatigue than ever before. No issues with my body that I had before. I was even able to contribute to pulling in a pace line of 8 plus riders during my race multiple times. Getting a spot on the podium at the end of the race was a bonus! It's amazing how much difference a proper fit makes. If you're serious about your cycling and want to unlock your potential, this is an absolute must. Best money I've spent on cycling gear, hands down!

Michael did an excellent job on my bike fit this past week. What I enjoyed about the fit was that he used proven techniques, but also really listened to my concerns and focused on the issues I was having, rather than running through a pre-set agenda. He took the time to hear about any past history/issues I was having and we diagnosed any problems due to the fit from there. The follow up email with notes afterwards was very helpful as well - I'm one to like to tinker with my bike and so this allowed me to really make sure things would be dialed in if I ever made any future modifications. Highly recommend!
